The efficiency of our traffic management crew has been proven at our current sanitary upgrades project site in West Vancouver. Both 3rd Street and Mathers Avenue are very narrow streets without roadway shoulders on either sides and they stretch through large trees. Combined with powerlines above, it leaves very limited room for our heavy equipment to operate. The city requires local traffic must be kept flowing smoothly at all times. That’s where our traffic control crew came shining!

3rd Street and Mathers Avenue Sanitary Upgrades

  • Completion Date: October 2024
  • Start Date: August 2024
  • Client: District of West Vancouver

With 80% of the scope of work completed, we’ve received several compliments from local residents for keeping traffic disruptions to a minimum.

By the end of October, 2024, we will have installed 450 linear-meters (lm) of 525 mm sanitary main, 280 lm of 375mm sanitary main, 10 precast manholes, 4 overbuild manholes and 18 sanitary service connections. Project also includes over 2,000 sqm of full-depth asphalt paving rehabilitation.

Some technical aspects of sanitary main installation worth mentioning are:

  • Working adjacent to 600mm steel Metro Vancouver Watermain
  • Bypassing existing sewer infrastructure with 6” pumps
  • Crossing multiple gas mains in close proximity to proposed main location

Kudos to Richard Des Ormeaux and Rayne Sodaro and all our traffic control crew members (TCP’s) for being excellent representatives of our company’s core value to pursue excellence!
