Measuring 20 ft. long, 15 ft. wide, and 10 ft. deep, this large concrete pressure reduction valve chamber was hoisted into place with a 250 metric tonne crane and will be tied into Metro Vancouver’s 1800mm water pipeline.
Our team of excavation specialists executed a geotechnical-engineered shoring plan. A 24 ft. by 10 ft. engineered cage with 16ft spreaders, as well as heavy lift plans and tag lines, were used for safe manned entry.
Once the chamber is fully installed, the backfill begins and the external pipework will start, followed by pressure testing and chlorination prior to our Metro Vancouver tie-in procedure.
